How does Invialign work?
Invisalign treatment is performed by using series of removable transparent aligners. Initially, the orthodontist examines the case. If it is suitable for invisalign, the orthodontist takes impressions and sends it to the Invisalign headquarters in the US, which runs a computerized setup. A routine examination occurs every two weeks, before replacing into a new aligner. The patient must wear the aligner for at least 22 hours a day (except for meals and brushing).

The advantages and disadvatages of Invisalign
The main advantage of invisalign is estethic, no brackets and wires! Therefore it is significantly less obvious than the standard braces systems.
Additional significant advantage is the ability to remove the aligner at any time. Thus the patient can brush more easily and effectively.
Moreover, with regular braces, which are permanently attached to the teeth, there is a bigger tendency to get stains (white spots) on the teeth. With removable aligners, it is less likely that teeth get stains (white spots).
On the other hand, clear aligners have some dis-advantages like difficulty in tooth rotation, non-continuous activity of the aligner and exposure to damage of the aligner due to grinding of teeth.

Are there any esthetic alternative treatments?
Additional esthetic options:
- Lingual Orthodontics In Lingual orthodontics the braces are attached to the lingual surfaces of your teeth (internal) so no one observe the orthodontic appliance. Patients can continue to smile and speak freely through out the treatment.
- There are transparent braces which are less obvious.
